We are a family owned and managed service. We strive to put those core values in what we do daily.
Our company is co-owned and operated.
The Majority owner is Heather Lawson who is a Hispanic American having served over 10 years in the US Army. As a disabled female combat veteran, she knows of the struggles that our veteran community goes through. Even though her watch has ended she continues to serve those who serve by providing special pricing to veterans and active duty military. Heather also honors her Hispanic heritage and embraces the struggle of the Hispanic community by providing bilingual services to the Hispanic community. Community participation and partnership is important to her as she belongs to the Internal Female Roller Derby association and skates on a local team. Heather has years of experience she brings to the table. Currently she is finishing her Business BA at Ivy Tech Community College.
NBU's Operations Manager & Co-owner is Chris "Chief" Lawson. Chief is a Retired Fire Chief with a rich background in building construction and code. He had formed and operated a special SEMA certified team responding to national emergencies as well as supporting the community by providing EMS coverage for events. Chief embraces his Scottish Heritage and belongs to several Scottish societies and even plays bagpipes. Chief attended Indiana University, Eastern Michigan University, and Michigan State University. He was a former associate professor at IUPUI and at Ivy Tech Community College. Giving back to the community is important to Chief as he belongs to the Freemasons, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Royal Order of Scotland and Murat Shrine. Chief is in charge of operations are of NBU Services.
Jorge Vasquez is an Hispanic American and is is the father of four. Jorge hails from Travers City Michigan. Jorge is our crew foreman and is resonsible for overseeing day to day operations of our two work crews, surveying and distrubuting material as well as asigning work. He has extensive experince in the construction and excavating industry.
All of our office staff are members of the family.
